This started off as an attempt to recreate and improve a game we used to play on the old DoD 1.3 servers that we called nade tennis. We had a plugin on there that would randomise the time it took a nade to go off so one player would throw a nade and the other would throw it back, this would continue until the nade went off - a sort of nade russian roulette. Unfortunately (or fortunately as it turned out), I could not find a way of modifying the fuse time for nades in source so I decided to use an object instead that I could then make explode after a random delay and lo KickTheBucket was born. So the gameplay works like this: An object spawns somewhere at random in the map, it could be a traffic cone, baby doll or of course an actual bucket - (hence the name) Players start with just a pistol and limited ammo but they can get more ammo and better weapons for kicking the "bucket", like the old nade tennis idea the object will explode after a random delay. For every kick, the players involved receive one stage point, once their score hits a defined level (default is 7) they advance one level and receive a new weapon. Once they are off Level 0, they also receive a spade or knife and if they get a melee kill they will automatically go up one level when they next kick the object, their victim also drops one level. For each kick, the players team also receives credits and when a player gets to level 7 (BAR) a menu appears and he can now buy other weapons such as Smoke bombs, MG's, Nades or even a Carbine for his whole team. All players who are level 7 and above can say !buy to bring the menu back up to buy more items. When the object explodes anyone killed in the blast loses a level, as they also do for commiting suicide. Another object will then spawn and play continues up until someone reaches level 13 - The Cluster Bomb, basically that player wins and gets a few seconds to throw as many nades as they can at the opposition before the map changes. The addon tweaks dod so you get infinite nades and can throw them much quicker than normal. This style of gameplay needs nice open maps so I set out to make/convert some maps specially to suit the gameplay.
